Lyrics: I never thought I'd be in love with you I never thought I would believe The stars all aligned And I would see them in your eyes I take a simple breath Send you to your knees And even if I notice You're an angel from above I'll find no other reason To ever fall in love so You should know who You are messing with A heart of stone I always find a lot of guys like you Quick to fall in love Quick to leave And after all the shit I like to put them through Why are you the only one Who keeps bothering me And even when I notice You're an angel from above I guess I've got a few reasons why I could fall in love but You should know who You are messing with A heart of stone You should know who You are messing with My self-control I guess I'm more scared Than I am tough Cause you keep chiseling your way Past my walls with just enough Even though I know that You're an angel from above I've got a million reasons now We should fall in love but You should know who You are messing with A heart of stone yeah You should know who You are messing with My self-control Keep at it cause I Wanna let you in and love you I wanna let you in and love you I wanna let you in I love you I wanna let you in and love you I wanna let you in and love you I wanna let you in I love you I love you I love you (wake up) (wake up) (wake up) (wake up) wake up

Dig 03:27
Lyrics: Hi What's your name Take a number Get in line Everyone's got a problem And your problem isn't mine What you wanna talk about it I don't understand I've been sitting on a throne At the top of it all Won't you lend a hand and dig for me Just dig for me And when you feel like you've been getting your share You gotta get down lower Try not to care yeah yeah And when you think that you can make it to the top I just build a wall around it Watch your spirit drop yeah Just dig for me Hi Don't you see that the distance in between Is less than what I really want But greater than what it used to be Please don't make me talk about it Don't you understand I've been sitting on a throne At the top of it all Won't you lend a hand And when you feel like you've been getting your share You gotta get down lower Try not to care yeah yeah And when you think that you can make it to the top I just build a wall around it Watch your spirit drop yeah Just dig for me Just dig for me And when you feel like you've been getting your share You gotta get down lower Try not to care yeah yeah And when you think that you can make it to the top I just build a wall around it Watch your spirit drop

Currency 03:50
Lyrics: She was brought up artificially Never what they wanted her to be No matter how hard she tried And so now All she wants to do is sing about money All she wants to do is sing about love All she wants to do are drugs in the system Everyone loosen up If beauty is her currency And youth is visibility And that's the way it has to be I'm relating and I'm drifting away And I'm slipping the distance is sinking in Please won't you listen to what I've been thinking I finally see it's conditioning Cause I'm a bad bitch I'm a good witch Yeah I'm significant They can deal with it If beauty is our currency And youth is visibility And that's the way it has to be Then love never came for free Love isn't payment for a job done well Love is not a refund for your personal hell Love is not a store where you buy and sell Love should never be withheld from those who don't excel Love is not a trophy for how hard you try And love as a transaction that is based on lies Will only gain their interest in your currency But there's more than meets the eye Don't you see? If beauty is our currency And youth is visibility And that's the way it has to be Then maybe we should disagree

Simple Love 05:14
Lyrics: Late at night All I seem to do is think of you All my energy spent Finding any way for us to be together Chasing time When I close my eyes I know you're mine Every time they open I can see the distance between us I cannot stay and wait for you forever I can't wait for things to ever change But I'm holding onto us Cause I think it's worth saving I don't want it all I don't need no diamonds, fancy cars I just want your time spent with me forever Yeah I don't want late nights all alone anymore I don't want long distance calls because you're bored I just want it simple I want it easy I want a simple love Just a simple love I want a simple love Just a simple thing You lift me so high when I'm feeling low So close to you now More than you may ever know It's worth saying that I think that we could work out With a little work It's worth it in the end and I know that everything will be alright Just gotta get this time zone right I just want it to be us Want it to be easy I want a simple love Just a simple love I want a simple love Just a simple thing I want a simple love Just a simple love I want a simple love Just a simple thing

Westend 05:22
Lyrics: It was the end of everything as we knew it It was the end of what we always called the West Human intuition or inhumane condition Either way created quite a mess They will say we never tried to stop them We all know the lies they like to tell They erased the human race at a rapid pace Distracting us with anything they can sell In the dead of night alive and looking for answers Like calling for a cure in an echo chamber It always seems to be that our direction comes From some well dressed distraction As a corporate savior Coffee Tea Drugs Shopping Cars Fast Sex Love Coffee Tea Sugar Sugar Breath Eat Sleep Wake Run Phones Social Facebook Instagram Check Bright LED Screens LED Screams Repeat The way I'm wired inside The way I'm wired inside The way I'm wired inside The way I'm wired inside

Lyrics: Welcome to the new world I bet it's all the same shit They always scrap any progress that we make Start over again All your problems they'll tend to Erase them from the sky Like you are flying without an airplane Every let down you bottom out Touch down without a safety net Don't expect their respect They only serve what you'll forget You didn't want and didn't need But babe you just made history Sex Money Fame Give it Sex Money Fame Give it Sex Money Fame Give it to me Give it to me Give it Give it Give it to me oh All the connections I can feel within my veins Every line around me stimulating I feel it goes straight to my brain Erase them from the sky Like you are flying without an airplane Every let down you bottom out Touch down without a safety net Don't expect their respect They only serve what you'll forget You didn't want and didn't need But babe you just made history Sex Money Fame Give it Sex Money Fame Give it Sex Money Fame Give it to me Give it to me Give it Give it Give it to me oh Erase them from the sky Erase them from the sky Sex Money Fame Give it Sex Money Fame Give it Sex Money Fame Give it to me Give it to me Give it Give it Give it to me oh

Ugly Truth 03:13
Lyrics: Who are you to tell me how I'm a threat to your agenda and should be silenced now I've got my problems I can name a few And the very first one begins with you You've got a problem that you need to fix It's an ugly truth but that's the way it is Who are you to say you know How it feels to be the body that I'm living in But that I can't control Who are you to say you bleed the same as I When you only ever cut me down and then you run and hide I've got my problems I can name a few And the very first one begins with you You've got a problem that you need to fix It's an ugly truth but that's the way it is I've got my problems I can name a few And the very first one begins with you You've got a problem that you need to fix It's an ugly truth but that's the way it is I've got my problems I can name a few And the very first one begins with you You've got a problem that you need to fix It's an ugly truth but that's the way it is

Feel Again 04:09
Lyrics: You're a memory I cannot recover Every remedy Shocks me like no other All the ups and all the downs They say we heard it all But nothing sounds the same I I wanna feel Something again It went up in flames I smoked it away Every little ash that I sweep Is spelling out your name Yeah All the ups and all the downs They say we have it all Then tell me how it changed I I wanna feel Something again I wanna feel Something again I can count the pills and All the days I washed away That left me here with nothing more to say But I I wanna feel Something again I wanna feel something Something

about

Gretchen King is a singer, songwriter, producer, and artist from Ohio. After years in band settings, Gretchen’s work as a singer and songwriter has been featured on The L Word, The Hangover 2, MTV’s The Real World, The Challenge, and the ending credits for the horror movie No One Lives.

Eager to explore her ideas in their entirety, Gretchen left the band setting in 2018 and began to write her first solo project. Under the name Buggie, she set to work creating a world uniquely hers. The result is a ten-track art-pop album, Fool Potential, that she has written, recorded, edited, and produced on her own.

Buggie's creative control results in an eclectic sound that challenges the listener to look beyond a single genre. Electronic, pop, trip hop, alternative, and experimental each find their way into Buggie's sound. Though her sound is unequivocally her own, a spark reminiscent of one of her influences (such as Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Grimes, Fantômas, and The Prodigy) may shine through. Like many of these artists mentioned, Buggie’s sonic world is equally a visual one: each song is paired with a whimsically oddball miniature scene and stop-motion handcrafted by Buggie herself.

Her surreal mixed-media artwork (full of paintings, sculptures, and diorama sets) is reminiscent of the stop-motion classics by Rankin/Bass Productions and the vintage 3-D children’s stories by View-Master.

Growing up in an old farmhouse, surrounded by cemeteries and across the street from a psychiatric hospital, left a magically surreal and often anxious imprint on Buggie’s childhood, one that brought both hospital escapees and ghosts to her front door.

While these experiences have left a lasting impression, they have also nurtured a wildly imaginative vision that puts Buggie in the same camp as some of her best-known peers, such as Melanie Martinez, Grimes, Marina and the Diamonds, and Mab Graves. In Buggie’s downtime, she delights in miniatures, vintage flair, self-help, and the works of Jim Henson, Rankin/Bass, and Terry Gilliam.
